Cumberland Servicenter has its roots in the Cumberland sub-division of Des Plaines, providing the surrounding community with the Texaco brand of gasoline and related products, and the complete servicing of their vehicles.
The original Service Station closed in 1965 and the business was moved to its present location. The focus of the new enterprise was to provide commercial vehicle service for the northwest suburbs—and specifically to the Elk Grove Village Business Park—that was under development and just beginning to come into its own.
Services included truck repair, and later a provider of the State of Illinois Certified Safety Lane Inspection. Although there have been different sub lines of business over the years, our primary business has always been to provide our community with service and support for their business vehicle needs. Whether small businesses with one truck, medium to large fleets, or the vehicles of our local municipalities, we have always prided ourselves on offering the highest value of quality service at a fair price.
In 2006, Cumberland Servicenter was sold to a large truck manufacturer because it provided an established business platform that became a model for the new franchise entity. Because of economic conditions, it was decided that this plan was not right for the times. On February 1st, 2012, Cumberland Servicenter was resold and is once again in private hands.
One thing has not changed. Cumberland Servicenter continues to offer:
- Friendly and professional service
- Quality workmanship backed by a warranty
- Continuous updates of OEM diagnostic software
- The highest quality parts, whether OEM or OEM-certified
- Quick turnaround time
- Safety Lane Inspections by certified inspectors who are trained not only to inspect the vehicles, but to do so in a courteous and respectful manner
