Safety Lane Inspections
Our technicians are certified to perform both State of Illinois Safety Inspections and Annual Federal DOT Inspections as well as State Diesel Emissions Tests. They are trained to provide a comprehensive inspection in a professional and courteous manner.
Our five state-certified inspectors are qualified to test the following:
- Truck
- Trailer
- Rebuilts
- Diesel emissions
Here is your safety lane inspection and diesel emissions checklist. Don’t forget that all vehicles MUST have the following in order to complete testing:
- Vehicle registration
- Reflectors
- Fire extinguisher
- Insurance card

Monday – Friday 7:00 AM – 5:00 PM with last inspection taken at 4:30 PM.
ALL inspections are on a “first come-first served” basis. Appointments are not taken. Please note that the beginning and end of every month are the busiest times, and that coming in a week or two prior to the expiration of your sticker usually results in less of a waiting time.
We do not shut down for lunch. During busy periods, we do our best to put two inspectors on the Inspection Lane to offer the quickest comprehensive inspection possible.
We are closed on the following holidays: New Year’s Day, Memorial Day, Fourth of July, Labor Day, Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, and Christmas Day.
We accept CASH only for all inspections unless other arrangements are made prior to the inspection. CHECKS and CREDIT CARDS will NOT be accepted. No exceptions.
Call us at 847-437-5050 for current pricing. For multiple truck owners, fleets and municipalities, we offer a coupon program. This allows pre-payment for the inspections and the issuance of COUPONS so that you don’t have to give the driver cash or have to reimburse them for using their own money.
In the event that our inspector finds a deficiency or fault with your vehicle, keep in mind that our primary business is in the repair of trucks. We can assist in correcting the matter, and our Service Department will be glad to provide you with a quotation. If you have a regular shop or mechanic that you deal with, we suggest you work with them to resolve the matter. We do not want you to feel that you must work with us in order to get a better inspection. All of our inspections are consistent and dictated by the guidelines provided by the State of Illinois.
